When you become pregnant, you and your baby deserve obstetric care that fits your medical needs. Our providers are here to deliver care for you and your unborn child so you can achieve the best pregnancy outcome possible. We will address your concerns, work to lessen your discomfort, and monitor the growth and development of your baby.
Regular prenatal care
Starting around eight weeks after your last menstrual period, you should schedule your first prenatal visit. Once your pregnancy is confirmed through a blood or urine pregnancy test, or through an ultrasound, your regular prenatal care will begin. Your provider will review your health history and assess your current health. At subsequent visits, you will have opportunities to ask questions or address concerns, while your provider will continuing monitoring your baby’s growth and development. These appointments will also include checks of weight and blood pressure, urine testing, and screenings for other pregnancy-related concerns including gestational diabetes.
For many people, one of the most exciting moments of pregnancy is when see your baby before he or she is born through an ultrasound image. We offer state-of-the-art ultrasound in our office. These powerful, noninvasive tools will be used to monitor your baby’s development.
Labor and delivery services
Our providers deliver babies at Novant Health Huntersville Medical Center. This facility offers comfortable rooms equipped with refrigerators, a sofa bed for your support person, large bathrooms and the opportunity to have your baby with you 24/7 after birth. All new mothers have access to lactation consultants to help with breastfeeding. This hospital also has a level 3 neonatal intensive care nursery, should your baby need special care.
